1975
Nicolae Muntean establishes a window workshop, artisanal production.
Veronica Muntean joins the accounting department and the foundations of the company AGER (Atelier GEam Rame) are laid.
1993
2003
Gabriel Muntean, the eldest son of the family, leaves his career as an officer and joins the company, bringing rigorous organization, discipline, and a focus on quality.
2005
The company begins the production of PVC joinery.
The UNIKAT brand is launched and free consultancy and measurement services are introduced.
2006
2006
UNIKAT becomes involved in supporting sports teams.
2007
Cristian Muntean, the second son of the family, joins, bringing IT expertise.
The first automated CNC production line is introduced and the company reaches 50 employees.
2008
2009
The first collaborations on the Italian market begin and specialized training programs for employees are implemented.
2011
Exports to Italy reach 30% of production.
UNIKAT enters the French market.
2012
2014
UNIKAT builds a modern production hall and relocates PVC window and door manufacturing. Production reaches 100,000 units per year.
2015
Exports reach 50%. The fleet grows to 27 vehicles.
UNIKAT rebranding. Modernization and repositioning.

UNIKAT rebranding. Modernization and repositioning.
2018
Exports reach 70% of production.
UNIKAT wins the Fereastra Awards Trophy, with the success also being reflected on national television channels.

UNIKAT expands with an insulating glass production facility, allowing better control over execution and delivery timelines. The Ug = 1.0 glass is introduced as a universal standard.
Our windows achieve superior thermal performance, with minimal heat loss.
2020
UNIKAT expands with the aluminium joinery division. UNIKAT is selected to manufacture and install joinery for the largest shopping center in Romania, Fashion House Cernica.
A Romanian premiere – the launch of Mont Blanc, the first and only window certified for passive houses.

Process optimization generated the highest productivity ratio in the company’s history.
Participation in the nZEB Expo for passive houses.
Launch of Colosseum Design for minimalist homes by UNIKAT.
Participation in the SelectUSA Program.

UNIKAT launches a Brownfield industrial reconversion project, transforming an acquired 60,000 m² factory into a modern, fully technologized space.
Wireless Smart Home sensors become a standard feature across the entire portfolio of windows and doors.

UNIKAT produces in the heart of Transylvania at Întorsura Buzăului, near Brașov, a wide range of PVC and aluminum windows and doors, as well as thermal insulating glass. In addition, it offers precise measurement services and consultancy to choose the best technical solution for the project. On-time installation with its own teams. And transparent, open communication throughout the entire process.
